NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Jury selection begins Monday in the federal murder trial of two men accused of conspiring to kill a witness who was cooperating with the FBI in a staged-vehicle-crash scheme.
U.S. District Court Chief Judge Wendy Vitter will begin seating a jury in the case against disbarred attorney Sean Alfortish and Leon “Chunky” Parker. Investigators say Alfortish paid Parker to kill Cornelius Garrison, who was feeding information to federal investigators. Both have pleaded not guilty.
Garrison was shot and killed outside his mother’s Gentilly home in September 2020. A 30-page indictment alleges Alfortish and Parker were part of money-making crashes, a cover-up and Garrison’s death…
