SAPD reveals new details after deadly crash on San Antonio highway

The San Antonio Police Department has revealed more information about the crash that shut down all six lanes of Interstate 10 on Sunday, August 9. The incident has now been confirmed as a deadly car crash.

SAPD officers told MySA that the crash, which has been classified as a major accident, occurred at approximately 6:19 a.m. Sunday morning. At the time, it shut down I-10 East between Vance Jackson Road/Exit 565 and West Avenue/Exit 566A, and backed up traffic to Crossroads Boulevard/Exit 565A.

Officials said a 2006 Silver Infiniti G35 was stalled in the middle of the highway in the 6000 block of the southbound lanes of I-10 West when it was struck by a 2017 Toyota Tundra. SAPD said the Tundra struck the Silver Infiniti from the back due to “low visibility.”…
