New Seafood and Fried Chicken Spot with a Massive Menu is Coming to Grand Rapids

I drive down Division Avenue on my way to work every day. The construction near Burton Street has made that commute a bit dicey lately, but on a recent trip, I spotted new signs going up at 1970 S. Division Ave., the former home of Happy’s Pizza and Savvy Sliders.

It turns out West Michigan is getting its very first Seahouse Fish & Chicken!

From Mid-Michigan to Grand Rapids

If the name doesn’t sound familiar, I’d not heard of it before either. Turns out, Seahouse is a growing Michigan-based mini-chain. Their flagship location opened on E. Michigan Avenue in Lansing back in 2023, followed by a second spot on W. Prospect Street in Jackson in 2024.

Now, Grand Rapids is next in line. While the new location is already listed on the Seahouse website, an official opening date hasn’t been announced yet. However, crews are moving fast. Every time I drive by, major renovation progress has been made, and the restaurant looks closer and closer to opening its doors.

Maybe a better question is what’s not on the menu? I mean, if you’re a fried food fan, this seems like it could be your new favorite…
