SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) — A new trial for Antolin Garcia-Torres, the man previously convicted of kidnapping and murdering Sierra LaMar, is slated to begin with jury selection later this month.
LaMar, 15, vanished in her Morgan Hill neighborhood on March 16, 2012 when she missed her bus to Ann Sobrato High School.
Garcia-Torres’ first-degree murder and kidnapping convictions were overturned by the California Court of Appeal earlier this year after the higher court ruled that his 2017 trial was tarnished by “insufficient evidence” and missteps by prosecutors…
