(KRON) — A 21-year-old Penngrove man was arrested early Friday after allegedly attacking a police officer and being tased, according to the Petaluma Police Department.
The incident began around 2 a.m. on Old Redwood Highway near Twin Oaks Tavern in Penngrove. A motorist reported to authorities that a man was on the roadway pushing shopping cart in the dark. Responding Petaluma police officers found Cesar Rodriguez-Macias, who they said ignored their commands to stop.
“Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation by communicating with Rodriguez-Macias to move out of the roadway due to him nearly being struck by passing vehicles, however he refused,” Petaluma PD wrote. “When officers attempted to take Rodriguez-Macias into custody, he fled on foot.”…
