DALLAS (KDAF) — Families in the Dallas-Fort Worth area can visit several local destinations designed to accommodate both children and dogs during the final weeks of summer. Notable locations include outdoor parks, a botanical garden event, a pet-friendly hotel and local markets.
The Dallas Arboretum is currently hosting the Dog Days of Summer through Aug. 31, allowing members to bring pets to the gardens from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Dogs are typically not permitted on the arboretum grounds outside of this seasonal event, which offers views of floral displays and the lake.
Trinity Groves, a growing neighborhood located south of Downtown Dallas, features several outdoor options for families. Trinity Overlook Park contains various walking trails and views of the city skyline. Children can access jungle gyms along the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge while pets explore the area.
