OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Nebraska State Board of Education last week postponed the conditional approval of an all-girls middle school in North Omaha, days before the school’s planned opening.
Some board members said they were uncertain about wording on the school’s website that has since been removed. Others said they were concerned Identity Preparatory Academy’s social studies teachings would not ensure students are given the opportunity to become competent, responsible, patriotic, and civil citizens.
The board’s official vote to postpone was 6-2.
