Waianae child torture suspects make first court appearance

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The suspects in a Waianae child torture case appeared in their first court appearance on Monday, Aug. 10.

The victim’s mother, Jasmine Quiroz-Pele, 35, is charged with Torture and Kidnapping, and his stepfather, James Heffernan, 36, is charged with Accomplice to Commit Torture and Kidnapping.
