You might think getting in the mood for a late-autumn celebration like Halloween would be the furthest thing from anyone’s mind on a 108-degree mid-August day, but business was brisk at the newest Spirit Halloween store in northwest Bakersfield, at the former home of the Olive and Coffee Rite Aid.
Halloween is almost 12 weeks away, but shoppers like Mike Friebolin, at the store with his wife and their granddaughter Launa, don’t mind.
