GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A new project by Meals on Wheels West Michigan is aiming to expand the organization’s mission.
Meals on Wheels West Michigan announced its new project Nourishing the Future, designed to expand the organization’s production kitchen. President and CEO Lisa Wideman told News 8 that the timeliness of the project is vital as the demand for delivery meals grows.
Meals on Wheels provides connection to seniors
“There’s going to be a very steady increase and demand in the number of seniors that are getting older and in need of help,” Wideman said. “And so our facility needs to meet that future demand. And so with our aging equipment, it’s really important that we can do this now.”
