Dana Dubey drove to southwest Louisville late on a Saturday night in June because his son needed to be calmed down. Within minutes of arriving, the 62-year-old father was dead in the roadway, stabbed multiple times. Now his son, 36-year-old Christopher Dubey, is set to be arraigned Monday afternoon on a murder charge tied to the Father’s Day weekend killing.
According to an LMPD arrest citation reported by WDRB, Dana Dubey had told his brother roughly three hours before his body was found that he was going to meet his son because Christopher “needed to be calmed down.” Court documents show Dana Dubey arrived at the 13900 block of South Blakely Lane at 11:40 p.m. on June 20, 2026, and stayed only a few minutes before the stabbing was reported 18 minutes later. Police say Christopher Dubey stabbed his father multiple times near Valley Station, close to Jefferson Memorial Forest.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office determined that Dana Dubey died from sharp force injuries just after midnight on June 21, with police pronouncing him dead at the scene, according to WHAS11. Police say Christopher Dubey then took off with his father’s car, setting off a search that would end at an apartment complex in Pleasure Ridge Park.
Blood Trail Leads to a Six-Hour Standoff
LMPD homicide investigators tracked the missing vehicle to an apartment complex parking lot in the 1700 block of Bonnyville Boulevard in Pleasure Ridge Park, where it was found still running with large amounts of blood inside, according to Law&Crime. Blood trails from the vehicle led investigators directly to an apartment door — a unit that, per the same account, was Christopher Dubey’s mother’s known address.
