PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Firefighters remain at the scene of a large tire fire Tuesday morning after flames tore through a tire recycling lot at an industrial park along Belvedere Road.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Capt. and Public Information Officer Tom Reyes said crews began receiving calls about flames and smoke around 10:30 p.m. Monday at the Palms West Industrial Park in the 8400 block of Belvedere Road.
When firefighters arrived, they found a tire recycling lot filled with large truck and heavy-equipment tires on fire.
It was a very large body of fire, and there was a lot of heat being thrown from it,” Reyes said. “And because of how it was, it was difficult to gain access.”…
