(COLORADO SPRINGS) — As students head back to school this month throughout Southern Colorado, the community is making sure every kid has everything they need for the first day.
Members of the Young Professionals Committee, through the Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce, stuffed around 55 backpacks on Monday, Aug. 10, with school supplies for underprivileged children.
The group plans to donate the bag to Charity’s Hope Food and Clothing Pantry.
“I think it’s just nice that we can have, you know, a group of people that are wanting to give back to the community for, you know, good causes and giving back to the the people that may not be able to, you know, support themselves for, you know, essential stuff like this,” said Katie Ogden, organizer for the backpack stuffing event. “So just being able to have us come together and give back is, is what we want to do.”…
