WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police are investigating after a group of people riding electric bicycles carjacked a motorcycle driver in the Petworth area Tuesday morning.
The investigation began around 2:30 a.m., when Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a reported armed carjacking at Georgia Avenue and Quincy Street NW. This is up the street from the Georgia Avenue- Petworth Metro station.
At the scene, officers learned that four people on Lime bicycles blocked the path of the motorcyclist in the roadway before one of the bicyclists pulled out a gun and demanded the motorcycle, according to MPD.
