As Erie’s Public Schools prepare to welcome students back for the new academic year, Superintendent Dr. Natalyn Gibbs says the district is ready and focused on creating an environment that supports student success.
A major focus this year will be the implementation of two new district-wide policies aimed at reducing distractions and promoting a stronger learning atmosphere. The changes include a bell-to-bell ban on electronic devices during the school day and a standardized dress policy across all schools.
Dr. Gibbs said the district has been encouraged by the strong community response during a series of parent engagement sessions held throughout the summer.
