BERKLEY — The city of Berkley’s kickoff to the Woodward Dream Cruise weekend will return on Friday once again.
The annual Berkley CruiseFest Classic Car Parade will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, in which hundreds of classic vehicles will travel down 12 Mile Road from Woodward Avenue to Greenfield Road.
Approximately 300 vehicles have registered to participate in this year’s parade, according to Parks and Recreation Superintendent Dan McMinn.
“I view this event as kind of an unofficial kickoff to the whole Dream Cruise weekend,” he said. “We get people coming from all over the state of Michigan, as well as outside states, just to come to the parade and have a good time. For the city, I think it’s an opportunity to showcase ourselves and show what Berkley is and who Berkley is to not only our community members, but to people who come in from outside of our area as well. So, I think it’s a good way for Berkley to show who they are and what we’re all about.”…
