Lids, the sportswear retailer that sells hats for pretty much every major-league sports team, is opening at 50 Powell St. in Union Square, according to building permits.
The company, which has locations at malls across the U.S., offers a variety of flat-bills, snapbacks, and trucker caps, along with jerseys.
Lids had a small location just up the street at 167 Powell that closed in 2023 as retailers were fleeing Union Square. Its return signals a renewed trust in the area’s retail potential, boosters say…
