Southern California police officers save choking 3-year-old boy

Officers from the Rialto Police Department are being commended for saving the life of a 3-year-old boy who was choking earlier this month.

On August 5 at approximately 12:10 p.m., police received a “frantic” 911 call from a mother reporting that her son was choking on vomit and was not breathing.

The mother was driving when she realized the boy was experiencing a medical emergency and immediately pulled over in the 300 block of E. Foothill Boulevard and called 911 for help, police said.

Rialto police officers quickly arrived to the scene and located the child, who they said was suffering from a “life-threatening airway obstruction” and unable to breathe…
