Toledo residents say clogged storm drain has caused flooding on Meteor Avenue for years

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Residents on Meteor Avenue near Alexis Road say a clogged storm drain has caused repeated street flooding for years, and they turned to 13 Action News for help after getting no response from the city.

The street had several inches of standing water Tuesday morning following overnight rainfall. By 11 a.m., most of the street had dried out — but one resident’s driveway still had about 5 inches of sitting water.

John Hamilton, who lives on Meteor Avenue, said the city came out a few years ago to clean the drain but has not returned since. He said cars traveling down the street during heavy rain have stalled after drivers did not realize how deep the water was…
