WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A new lawsuit filed against D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department and city government claims there are issues with the city’s Crime Solvers tip rewards program, including allegations of unpaid tip reward money.
Tom Donohue, Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for District 8A01 in Southeast, filed the suit Tuesday in DC Superior Court. He alleges promised reward payments weren’t made after he turned video and information in to investigators.
He’s seeking $30,000, alleging he was promised $25,000 for information and video in a hit-and-run homicide case, but was only given $5,000. He said he was again promised $10,000 for robbery information and video he provided to the department, and never received that payout at all…
