DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. — Firefighters are working to reach and contain a small wildfire burning in timberland about 16 miles south of Cottage Grove.
The Douglas Forest Protective Association is responding to the Big Baldy Fire, estimated at about five acres, burning in a reproductive timber unit. The fire is within a mutual aid response area, and resources from DFPA and the Oregon Department of Forestry’s South Cascade District are working to gain access to the fire.
