ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – With the school year approaching, Anchorage School District bus drivers are already hitting the roads — running practice routes and refreshing their skills before students climb aboard.
“We always come back and we do driving. So, we renew our skills on driving a school bus. It’s 40 foot long. So, it’s not like it can articulate in the middle for making turns,” Heather Philp, Senior Director of Anchorage School District Transportation Services, said.
