Louisville food pantry sees 40% increase in demand

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville food pantry and meal site near downtown says it is seeing a significant increase in the number of families seeking help, with lines stretching out the door Tuesday morning.

St. Vincent de Paul’s twice-weekly food pantry was as busy as it has been in years, according to people there. Robert Smith stood in line for the better part of an hour as the line nearly reached Jackson Street when the pantry opened.

“I ain’t never seen it this crowded,” one person in line said…
