A beloved library branch in the state’s second-largest city abruptly closed late last month after decades of operation, angering residents and the local councilman in the residential Journal Square neighborhood.
Adding to the tumult is the Jersey City library system’s leadership, after its director announced his retirement shortly following the branch’s closure.
