Marion County filed for a preliminary injunction in federal court Aug. 10 to prevent the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from starting a deep drawdown of Detroit Lake in the fall.
The county asked the court to prevent the Corps from moving forward with plans to drop the reservoir to historically low levels until it can rule on a joint lawsuit filed by the county and the City of Salem.
