Work was set to begin Aug. 10 on a $1.88 million project to build a pond and related amenities within the footprint of the long-idled, 2.5-acre golf course irrigation pond at the Vistoso Trails Nature Preserve in Oro Valley.
Fencing is in place around the construction site immediately north of Vistoso Highlands Drive. Gravel has been stockpiled. Contractor KE&G Construction planned to move equipment and more material onto the site the week of Aug. 3.
During construction, trails immediately around the construction site are closed, and they’ll be off-limits to the public throughout the work. The contract, with a 1-year completion deadline, was awarded May 12. Oro Valley has created a webpage for pond updates (see related story)…
