Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is entering the 2026 NFL season on a high note, having recently celebrated a major personal milestone. Just before training camp, Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift tied the knot in a star-studded wedding held at Madison Square Garden.
Speaking to reporters at Chiefs training camp on Wednesday, the 36-year-old described the July 3 ceremony as “the best night of my life.” He expressed gratitude to everyone who attended, calling it “a crazy night” filled with plenty of celebration.
The wedding drew around 1,000 guests, including a host of A-list celebrities such as Adam Sandler, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, Emma Stone, George Clooney, and Bradley Cooper. From the sports world, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany were there, along with NFL legends Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, as well as basketball star Caitlin Clark. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid joked that all the dancing at the wedding had kept him in shape for the season ahead.
Notably, the couple opted out of traditional bridesmaids and groomsmen. Taylor’s brother Austin Swift served as her “Man of Honor,” while Travis’s older brother Jason was his “Best Man.”
The romance between Swift and Kelce began discreetly, with Swift revealing in an interview that their relationship started well before she was seen at Chiefs games. Kelce first mentioned Swift on his “New Heights” podcast in July 2023, joking about wanting to give her a friendship bracelet during her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City.
The couple’s engagement was made public in August 2025, shortly after Taylor appeared on the Kelce brothers’ podcast. Swift captioned the announcement, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” alongside photos of Kelce proposing.
Now, Kelce is shifting his focus back to football. An 11-time Pro Bowler, he’s preparing for his 14th NFL season.
Despite ongoing retirement speculation, he confirmed he plans to play at least through the 2026 campaign. Last season, Kelce recorded 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns, even though the Chiefs missed the playoffs.
