The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) shared its daily crime summary for August 11, highlighting reported incidents including aggravated assaults, auto thefts and multiple catalytic converter thefts across the county.
MCPD’s 1st District, which covers Rockville, Potomac and portions of North Bethesda, reported two incidents. Catalytic converters were stolen from two vehicles in the 1700 block of Twinbrook Parkway sometime between 2am Monday and 12:30pm Tuesday. At approximately 6:27pm Tuesday, police responded to the 400 block of N. Horners Lane for an aggravated assault involving a firearm. According to police, a suspect pointed a handgun at people inside a vehicle, and one person was arrested.
The 2nd District, which covers Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington and portions of North Bethesda, reported a theft from a vehicle and an aggravated assault. All four tires were stolen from a vehicle in the 2200 block of Washington Avenue sometime between 9pm Monday and 7:30am Tuesday.
