FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — One of the hospitals that was sent a cease-and-desist letter from the City of Fort Wayne has agreed to pay the fine for transporting two unhoused individuals to Fort Wayne.
In May and again in June, the attorney for the City of Fort Wayne sent two letters detailing the events of how two unhoused individuals were sent to The Rescue Mission from an Indianapolis mental health facility without gaining consent from the facility to do so.

Since this violated a city ordinance passed in March that prohibits transporting unhoused individuals to the city without prior consent, the mental health facility was issued two citations and ordered to pay a $2,500 fine.
On Wednesday, the city and the mental hospital settled out of court to pay the $2,500 fine. The two citations were dismissed as well…
