FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCIV) — Folly Beach ranks as the second most theft-prone beach in the United States, according to a new analysis of crime data from more than 500 beach destinations nationwide.
The study, conducted by the Action Network, examined property crime data surrounding public beaches and used a weighted scoring model that incorporates an area’s “effective daily population” to estimate the likelihood of theft for visitors.
