Fire danger and storm chances Thursday

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — With the heat dome firmly in place over the Southern US, we really haven’t seen many changes day-to-day, and don’t really expect many changes in the days ahead. Today was the 17th day Oklahoma City was able to rise into the 100s and we’ll see potentially another 9 added to the tally based on the current forecast. Relief from the heat is few and far between, but a few showers and storms could be possible Thursday evening across northwest Oklahoma. With hot temperatures and dry conditions, fire danger will become more of an issue going into the forecast as well.

A HEAT ADVISORY remains in effect for the entire area until 8:00 PM Friday due to hot conditions both day and night.
