Dallas, TX – The Texas Historical Commission (THC) invites diners to discover restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex where every meal comes with a story. Texas Treasure of the Table showcases long-standing restaurants recognized through the Texas Treasure Business Award (TTBA) program — businesses that have served their communities for more than 50 years, preserving local traditions, recipes, and shared memories across generations.
The Dallas–Fort Worth region is home to a distinctive group of TTBA-recognized eateries that reflect the area’s cultural heritage and enduring foodways. Dallas restaurants in Texas Treasures of the Table include El Fenix, Mesquite BBQ, Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse, and Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, while Fort Worth is represented by Ol’ South Pancake House and Riscky’s Bar-B-Q. Others in the area include Old Mexican Inn Restaurant & Cantina (Corsicana), Fire For The Lord BBQ formerly Ernie’s Pit BBQ (Greenville), Bartley’s BBQ (Grapevine), Jake & Dorothy’s Café (Stephenville), Boots Burgers (Rockwall), The Malt Shop (Weatherford), and The Pizza Place (Weatherford).
