A San Francisco man who died this month after being assaulted in the Tenderloin is being remembered as a creative soul who was a leader in a metaphysical church.
Those who knew Paul Helsom said he could be surly, but demonstrated his own brand of brilliance from a young age, showing an interest in everything from art and animals to oceanography and English occultist Alasteir Crowley.
