AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — A new survey of Amarillo ISD educators shows weekend food support through Snack Pak 4 Kids and Snack Shak is helping students in and out of the classroom.
The survey included 1,088 elementary, middle and high school educators. According to the results:
- 72% reported improved mood and temperament among students receiving weekend food support
- 71% saw a stronger sense of belonging
- 68% reported greater confidence and concentration
- 65% reported improvements in academic performance
Dyron Howell, founder of Snack Pak 4 Kids and Executive Director, said the organization wanted to hear directly from educators about the impact of the program.
“Our community is making a serious investment in what we do. I think we need to do two things,” Howell said. “We need to demonstrate to our community that the investment they’re making is moving the needle.”…
