Each year, spectators packed the grandstands for Buckeye’s demolition derby. During the intermission, however, the excitement would die down, and fans would wander to the concession stands or head out to the parking lot and leave.
Mike Linderman, at the time a member of the Buckeye Chamber of Commerce, had an idea to alter that pattern.
