COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The city of Columbia broke ground Thursday on a Transportation Penny Tax project that will connect the Trenholm Acres and Newcastle neighborhoods with new sidewalks.
The $4.5 million project will provide seven new sidewalks totaling 5.14 miles, along with crosswalks, new driveways and valley gutters.
The streets affected will include:
- Claudia Drive (Humphrey Drive to Roof Street)
- Humphrey Drive (Shakespeare Road to Parkingson Drive)
- Nancy Avenue (Humphrey Drive to Roof Street)
- Shakespeare Road (Fontaine Road to Roof Street)
- Sprott Street (Humphrey Drive to Hearn Drive)
- Warner Drive (Fontaine Road to Westmore Drive)
- Westmore Drive (Frontage Road to Humphrey Drive)
