City of San Clemente officials are looking to further restrict pesticide and herbicide use on city property while exploring whether the city has authority to regulate their use within private homeowners associations, following renewed community concerns over chemical exposure and reported childhood cancer cases elsewhere in South Orange County.
The City Council on Aug. 4 reviewed San Clemente’s Integrated Pest Management Policy, which has guided pesticide use on public property since its adoption in 2018.
