Jim Kerr Promoted to Murfreesboro Executive Director of Public Infrastructure

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The City of Murfreesboro is pleased to announce the promotion of Jim Kerr from Director of Transportation to Executive Director of Public Infrastructure, taking the place of the retiring Chris Griffith. This leadership role is vital in guiding the City’s continued investment in road improvements and critical transportation infrastructure systems.

In his new position, Kerr will oversee the strategic planning, coordination, and implementation of major infrastructure initiatives that support Murfreesboro’s traffic needs and long-term quality of life. He will work closely with City departments, regional partners, developers, engineers, and elected officials to ensure the City’s infrastructure keeps pace with the city’s economic development goals and priorities. Kerr will provide executive oversight of infrastructure planning and delivery across multiple disciplines, helping coordinate transportation investments, capital improvement planning, development review, and long-range growth strategies.
