5 children watch as parents are detained by Border Patrol in Lake Worth Beach

LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — An emotional video showing five children saying goodbye to their parents during a U.S. Border Patrol stop in Lake Worth Beach is drawing attention to the impact of increased immigration enforcement on families in Palm Beach County.

The video, posted by the Guatemalan-Maya Center, begins with children crying inside a vehicle before showing them getting out and hugging their parents, Maria Leiva Perez and Abraham Domingo, goodbye.

The center says the family had just left Sunday Mass and was headed to buy school shoes when they were stopped. Behind the wheel was the couple’s oldest daughter, a U.S. citizen who had turned 18 the day before…
