Man accused of stealing nearly $5,000 in antiques at South Florida Fairgrounds

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A man is accused of stealing nearly $5,000 worth of items from an antique show at the South Florida Fairgrounds, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

PBSO says that on Wednesday, Gregory Calabrese, 56, was arrested for an alleged theft that took place on July 31 at the South Florida Fairgrounds during an antique show. According to the affidavit, the victim — who was a vendor at the antique show — reported that a Cuban-link-style gold-plated silver bracelet, and an 1896-O extra-fine 40-cent piece were missing. The two items were valued at around $1,600 combined.

The following day, PBSO says that the victim reported another item was missing: a brown three-ring “Penny Book” containing around 400 assorted coins. This was valued at around $3,000…
