Ingleside pulling plug on Flock camera contract

INGLESIDE — The Ingleside City Council voted unanimously to authorize the cancellation of the city’s contract for Flock license plate reader cameras following privacy concerns and public feedback.

During its regular meeting on Aug. 11, the council voted 6-0 to authorize City Manager Brenton Lewis to terminate the contract.

The motion allowed up to $22,000 from council discretionary funds to cover potential termination fees and related expenses. Lewis noted the contract was originally set to run through Fiscal Year 2025 and Fiscal Year 2026…
