County declares building a ‘dangerous structure’ after partial roof collapse

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Clark County declared the building where the roof partially collapsed a dangerous structure.

On Wednesday, three people were injured when the awning fell at the shopping plaza located at 6105 W. Flamingo Road near Jones Boulevard.

In an email sent Thursday to 8 News Now, a Clark County spokeswoman said a building inspector red-tagged the property and declared that the structure has been “deemed unsafe and that occupancy of the structure is unlawful without written permission” from a county official.

“It will be the owner’s responsibility to retain the services of a Nevada-licensed structural engineer to evaluate the damage and recommend necessary repairs/improvements,” a spokeswoman said…
