ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A pair of Anchorage hikers got a rare look at two of the city’s largest residents when they encountered a black bear and a moose at the same time in Kincaid Park.
Fran Brink and Lacee Johnson recorded the encounter. In the video it seems the bear — quietly munching on berries — makes a bluff charge at the young bull moose, then returns to munching.
“I think the older bulls would’ve actually been like, ‘Alright, there’s a bear, I’m gonna keep on going up straight,’ and I actually thought he was just going to keep on going straight, but he kind of curved towards us.” Johnson said. “And I was like, ‘Oh, alright. I get it now. He was, he was too curious’ and, you know, the bear’s like, ‘I’m just gonna eat berries,’ and bluff charged him, and the moose just basically ran off.”…
