The Greenville Chamber of Commerce recently awarded the Butch Kirven Excellence in Public Service Award to Greenville Mayor Knox White.
The award, sponsored by Auro Hotels, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding public service and leadership in Greenville. It was presented to White during the Greenville Chamber’s State of Greenville breakfast held Aug. 13.
White is the longest-serving mayor in Greenville’s history. He was first elected to Greenville City Council in 1983 and became mayor in 1995.
