A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2022 fatal shooting of Monterey Park Police Officer Gardiel Solorio.
Carlos Daniel Delcid was found guilty by a jury in May on one felony count each of first-degree murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle, robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon. The jury found the special circumstance allegation that the murder was committed during an attempted carjacking was true.
On Aug. 5, a judge sentenced Delcid to life without parole for the murder. Solorio was off duty when he was shot and killed in a Downey gym parking lot in 2022…
