SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — As Mark Shaaf prepares to bury his 3-year-old daughter Yasmeen, he is also watching the criminal case surrounding her death grow.
Prosecutors charged Yasmeen’s mother, 27-year-old Nathalie Alejandro, on Wednesday with criminally negligent homicide. She is the second person charged in connection with the July 31 crash on Park Street that killed Yasmeen and injured her 7-year-old brother.
For Shaaf, the new charge is a step toward the accountability he has been asking for, but he hopes prosecutors go further.
“If it were up to me, I would have the book thrown at her obviously,” Shaaf said. “Every charge possible related to the occurrence.”…
