Cloudy skies are expected early across the Willamette Valley this Friday, transitioning to partly cloudy conditions later in the day. High temperatures will reach the low 80s with west-southwest winds. Tonight, light easterly winds in the mid-levels of the atmosphere are causing smoke from nearby fires to drift into the central and northern Willamette Valley. Some of this smoke is anticipated to mix down to the surface as the evening progresses.
However, we expect this smoke to be short-lived as west to northwest winds return tonight and continue into Saturday morning, pushing the smoke eastward and clearing the air once again.
Through the weekend, temperatures are forecast to remain near to slightly above average, with afternoon highs reaching the mid to upper 80s across interior valleys…
