If you love a good thrift-store hunt, Seattle is home to the ultimate thrifting black hole: Evergreen Goodwill’s flagship at 1400 S Lane St., which the nonprofit describes as the world’s largest Goodwill. Prepare to lose a minimum of one hour inside browsing the many racks and shelves (and also be prepared to dig a little bit, but that’s all part of the fun).
Spanning roughly 70,000 square feet, the massive store offers an almost overwhelming amount to browse. Approximately 10,000 new items are put on the sales floor every day, while Evergreen Goodwill’s annual report says more than 57,000 new items are priced each week. In other words, even frequent shoppers can find something different on their very next visit.
The selection covers just about every corner of secondhand shopping, from clothing, shoes and accessories to furniture, home decor, sporting goods, toys, and seasonal merchandise like Halloween costumes and holiday decor. Depending on the day, shoppers can also uncover collectibles, vintage pieces and other unusual finds.
