Victim’s body taken to Arizona after Bakersfield ‘lean’ robbery, 3 convicted of murder: DA

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Three men were convicted of first-degree murder on Thursday in an attempt to dispose of a man’s body in Arizona after a robbery related to buying “lean,” according to the Kern County District Attorney.

Juan Carlos Toscano, Javier Angel Ontiveros, and Garret Sebastian Cole were found guilty on August 13, 2026, of murder, with special circumstances that the murder occurred during a robbery being confirmed, along with other charges.
