Woman sought for bloody Far Rockaway assault in broad daylight after she allegedly slashed a man she was arguing with: NYPD

Police from the 101st Precinct in Far Rockaway are searching for a woman who allegedly slashed the throat of a man she was arguing with, leaving him critically injured on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 13.

The bloody assault occurred in front of 17-25 Village Ln. at 10:10 a.m. when the suspect began screaming at the 43-year-old victim. The verbal dispute at the newly completed Rockaway Village mixed-use complex escalated into violence when the woman pulled out a sharp cutting instrument and slashed him across the neck, causing a severe laceration, police said. The assailant ran off southbound on Beach 22nd Street toward Cornaga Avenue. EMS rushed the victim to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, where he was listed in critical condition.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect on Thursday and described her as having a dark complexion with a heavy build. She was last seen wearing a powder blue sweatshirt and matching sweatpants with a pink hair bonnet or shower cap.

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to her arrest and indictment…
